The CUTEST bird nest sensory bin

The girls are really loving our sensory bins these days. By changing them out weekly, it keeps their attention piqued and they are constantly finding new ways to play with them! For me, entertained kids and a few quiet moments every now and then are worth millions!

This week, to go along with the letter E we studied, we did lots of EGG activities. The sensory bin went right along with this theme. Filled with bird seed and bird nests made from rolled down paper bags, it was aesthetically pleasing (for mom 😉) and fun to play with (for the girls… and mom too 🤷‍♀️) . The eggs we used were left over from Easter last year and came from Walmart. I don’t think they will be available right now, but here is the link so you’ll know what to look for closer to Easter time. They’re adorable and we’ve used them for many activities this week.

My favorite thing about sensory bins is their inherent learning opportunities (without the girls even realizing they are learning). Throughout the week, I heard things like “my hands are bigger than yours so they can hold more bird seed” and “woah, it only took 4 scoops to fill up this nest”. I guess I can just sit back and relax and let them figure things out on their own, huh?!

What are your favorite sensory bins? I’d love to hear about them in the comments. See ya’ll soon ❤
